Connecting to the device’s WIFI Network

The Progenitor Device has a WIFI network that allows you to connect to and manage all the settings such as color, speed, preset, effect, timers, smart home automation. etc. Please see the steps below to get started

WIFI Network Name (SSID): Dalek
WIFI Password: Exterminate!

  1. Power on the device and wait ~30 seconds
  2. From a PC or smartphone, connect to the device’s WIFI network
  3. Use the WIFI information above to connect
  4. Once you are connected, open a browser and go to http://4.3.2.1
  5. The below should appear. Click “TO THE CONTROLS!” to change the settings, adjust the presets, etc.


Optional: Adding the device to your WIFI network

  1. Connecting the device to your home WIFI network by first clicking on the Config (gear icon) in the top menu
  2. From the config menu, click on WIFI setup
  3. On the WIFI setup page, enter your home's WIFI network name and password and click save
  4. After saving, go to the WIFI Setup menu again, and find the Client IP address
  5. Reconnect to your home's network, and navigate to the device using its new IP address on your home network

    Example:
    I would browse to http://10.0.0.152 to reach my device (your IP address will be different)

    Note:
    If you have issues getting your device connected to your home WIFI, please make sure your router provides 2.4GHz WIFI. Additionally, this YouTube search might be of help: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=wled+wifi+setup
     

 

Optional - Changing the default preset (effect)

  1. Determine the preset ID Number that you want to run all the time. Example shows preset id "3":
  2. Open the Config menu and click on LED Preferences
  3. Scroll down until you find the “Apply Preset ___  at boot” option and enter the ID number of the preset you want to run at start up
  4. Click SAVE at the top or bottom of the page
  5. Test the new preset setting by cycling power to the warp core

 

WLED File Downloads

If you need to factory reset/restore your device:
Connect to the device over WIFI and navigate to its settings page at http://4.3.2.1/settings/sec. You should see a section to upload both the preset and configuration JSON files. Upload the preset file first followed by the configuration file. After uploading the configuration file, the device will reboot and will start running normally.
