The Cray-1 was the first commercially available supercomputer and was a major milestone in the development of supercomputing. It was designed by Seymour Cray, known as the "father of supercomputing". The Cray-1 had an unique C-shaped cabinet with a ring of benches around the outside that covered the cooling and power systems. The Cray-1 was the world's fastest supercomputer from 1976 to 1982 and could perform 240 million calculations per second which was far beyond anything else at that time.

This is a 1:12th scale model of the CRAY-1. The model is ~7 inches tall and ~8.5 inches wide at the base.
